Intention
Intention is the foundation for all of our choices, converting reaction to pro-action. When we’re unclear about our intentions we are only responding to outside pressures. When we’re clear, we have set the course of action and we have a much better chance of getting what we want.

Educators, Coaching, and Training Workshops
Supporting Teachers and Administrators During Challenging Times
During the COVID-19 crisis, the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence launched a survey of over 5,000 teachers to gauge their emotional lives. The survey results indicated the “five most-mentioned feelings among all teachers were anxious, fearful, worried, overwhelmed, and sad. Anxiety, by far, was the most frequently mentioned emotion.”
Teachers expressed their top five feelings based on two major reasons. First, they feared that they or a loved one would contract COVID-19 Second, is the stress felt having to learn and/or adapt to the new technologies required to teach remotely.
In addition to fear and stress, many educators are feeling overworked, under-appreciated and are struggling with an array of emotions during these challenging times. The Yale Center found that “emotions drive effective teaching and learning, the decisions educators make, classroom and school climate, and educator well-being.” Coaching provides a safe place to share your myriad of emotions, concerns, and frustrations. Coaching is a gift to yourself to rediscover or develop skills to create home/work balance and peace of mind, especially for those who are working remotely.
As a life coach and educator for many years, I have provided teacher development, instructional coaching, teacher mentoring, and educational consulting from the K – 12 system through colleges/universities. My passion is teaching educators evidenced-based strategies to help them conquer their unproductive feelings and barriers, which in turn creates immediate success in their classrooms.
My experience as a public school superintendent, principal, charter school director, university instructor, high school counselor, and teacher for more than thirty years gives me the unique opportunity to “walk in your shoes” and I truly can relate to where you are at this moment in time. As an instructor of Educational Psychology and teacher training at the university level for more than 18 years I have the knowledge, skills and abilities to support you on your path of self-improvement.
In addition, I recognize that your time and resources are valuable, yet limited, so my goal is to provide useful strategies that can be immediately applied. These strategies can be learned through various training workshops including: Classroom Management; PBIS; Equitable Outcomes for All Students; Engaging Instruction for All Students; Strategies for Teaching under-resourced Students; Closing the Skills Gap; Adult Education; and Differentiated Instruction.
I’m looking forward to scheduling a conversation today about individual supportive coaching, and/or a training workshop for teachers, school sites, or districts.
